the Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.
Grief doesn't push Him away. It's exactly where He stands.
You may feel that breaking apart means falling out of His reach. The opposite is true. Nearness is His response to broken hearts — not in spite of the shattering but drawn to it. You don't have to gather the pieces first. He comes close while you're still in them.
